Bubba , there are some corners that can be cut, but it's mainly being in the right place at the right time and knowing the right people. That's another thing about this place that helps us all. Last year dingus alerted us to 2-sets of K-Horn cabinets in Washington state. After getting him to hold em I dispatched a friend on a road trip to get em in the middle of winter (and yes there is a thread on this) 50.00 for each cabinet. Super quality work and in graet shape. I had 200 in buying them 1200-1400 getting them here and promptly sold em to Chris and Kevin. About the same time member Skratch came accross a killer deal on some BMS-4592 2" compresion drivers, considered by most to be th best drivers in the world, for 200 each. Gobbled up as many of those as we coukld. The woofs were a bargain from Crites. The crossovers are the only thing I couldn't get much of a break on. Chris and Kevin are in their K's for 2500.00 plus shipping--------The power of Phoenix and it's people!!!! 3000.00 worth on that deal.
Kev, go to Fastlane Audio, we even have a link, AND A BUILD THREAD--"Elliptrac 400" horns. I, myself are not doing another pair of those, I'll buy em assembled....
Haha not sure about that Lee. They kick out the jams pretty good though. Combined with the 901's I like to think it sounds pretty good. One woofer needs some work though.
I did my 901's. These are a bit of a different story though. I also have a set of project Cerwins im gonna re do myself. Yorkville is only about 45 mins from my house. Theyll be fixing that one whenever I get around to it.
I've lost the link for the wooden horns....the ones where you can buy the kit and glue all the pieces together and then sand like crazy. Is that still the best way to go? I have got to get on the horns. I have everything else. Can Skratch CNC these horns? Or does anyone have any for sale? I gotta get my La Scala project finished, and wooden horns are the last upgrade.
Maybe I sold askfirst.........is it worth the extra money an wok to do the wooden horns?

Yea.. I can do that.. But... If your not doing another pair they must be pretty rough to put together ! Can I put about 6 coats of polyurethane on the sanding each coat and make them look like galss !!!!!
