Stuck in the 70's
you can get beefed up magnets that'll do that these days.
i've been thinkin' about trying it on my old Jnr.
I've always loved P-90s. I had a Reverend 290 with their version that was cool, but it didn't have the LP Junior crunch.
My Les Paul has Skatterbranes in it that are great, and I've been playing my Strat a lot lately with Lindy Fralin Vintage Hots in it. I put an SP 42 in the bridge and it sounds P-90ish, but man, there is nothing like a great LP Junior with vintage P-90's thru an old Marshall. THE classic rock sound if ya ask me:)
Oh and Fralin is coming out with his own version of the P-90. If it's anything like his Strat pups, it will be truly awesome. Plus, he is a great guy. He called me himself when I ordered my pups just to make sure he knew what I was wanting to hear tone wise. I highly recommend him.

I've totally lost the plot....

Finally, a man who knows his pick-ups! ;)
I don't play anymore, but I 'dabble' from time to time.
I've always loved the P90's ever since I had my LP '54 re-issue (mid 1972). The one with the bars on the neck p/u.
I got my '59 Jr (? - although it might be a '58, as it has no number) a little after that and have had it since late '72. Still got the same strings on it! Honestly!
Unfortunately I got my left arm caught in a goods lift where I used to work back in '82, and that put an end to my playing days. Oh well, sh*t happens....
Was it you Dave that told me about the magnets when I first joined here? I recall having a similar conversation here with someone once before. Maybe just my mind playing tricks on me.... again.

Anyway, it's almost 4am, and i just gotta go to bed....

We will chat more later for sure. You can educate me as to wot works these days. (I'm so out of touch....)

Off to bed...

George.

... it's a bit dirty. ;)

Broken beyond repair but highly affable
The ringing in my ears, chattering of the hard drive and quiet presense of the fog and freeway down the road and a car revving somewhere...

must be a remix.

Yup, Lindy is a great guy...called him up and had him over wind a Tele bridge for me and custom wind the neck. I loved the tone of that guitar (should have kept the damn thing....)
