Amen. I wouldn't go Mach 8 with that combo thougfh....

The Gepetto diode fix probably saved them. Without those in place, C6 would have toasted and the reverse emitter base voltage of 50+ volts would have finished the 5172s off

The protect board. AFTER you replace vQ1,2,3,4 in bith channels with MPSA 18's in Q1,2, and MPSA 92's in Q3,Q4.

Yes, the ON Semi is perfect. They are the best. The Multicomp will do although I have never heard of them as a manufacturer.

OK, Newark is a Canadian outfit. Hard to get stuck in customs that way.

Newark is an American company that I used in the past. Scary fast shipping, 2 days from NC, transport , taxes duties brokerage etc for a $13 flat fee, no, that is not a typo..
Unfortunately the MPSA 92 are non stock items and Mouser don't carry them so I`ll have to find them elsewhere, suggestions?

Mouser has tons of them, ON Semi branded as well. They also have the MPSA18s in stock.

The output transistors are On Semi as well albeit 15024s, they should be better than the Delco`s in any case.
So there is nothing more that I can do until they get here?

Did you check that the bias adjusts properly now that you have things settled down?
