I'd still like it if he described what he heard.. Hey... so what did it sound like last night? Lots of nasty distortion.. hum.. noise.. ? Ipod right to it?

Yeah meter would be good... gotta see about that offset and whatnot.

Yes, yes, and yes. I have a meter, but it's mostly for when my friends, who aren't complete idiots like me, come over to help me fix electrical stuff. I AM good at letting the magic smoke out, however...

I just tried it again, the volume knobs didn't seem to work, just horrible sound. Maybe a preamp will fix it(fingers crossed).

Thanks Ken. It was very well packed. I kept the box and packing anticipating the need to send it off for repair in the future; I will definitely want to put the correct faceplate and meters on there.

I'm looking forward to getting this old equipment I have up and running; I haven't pissed my neighbors off in a few years. Not since I drug home a 35 year old Harley with no mufflers. I just HAD to get it running, and we screwed with it until 3am before we did...neighbor didn't think it was nearly as cool as I did. It has mufflers now...

Wheres texas city? My parents live in Tyler.
I used to hunt deer out in Tyler, a good family friend lived out there about 30 years ago. Long way off, about a six hour drive. I'm between Houston and Galveston. This is where the BP plant exploded in 2005 with 15 unfortunate deaths. I moved here to work out there on a project walking down every single line in the plant. I'm not there anymore, but the project is still going on...

Sounds like a PayPal claim to me. I am pretty sure if you wanted to keep the amp and asked for a partial refund (say $100) PayPal would side with you. These guys here can definitely get it up and running for you

Broken beyond repair but highly affable

Not really, refineries and petro/chem plants. I am actually a pipe designer, basically I draw pipes in 3d for the pipe fitters to build.
that works out better than letting the Windows 95 screensaver do it :sign1:

Well, let's let Lee and Co. sort through it too and then maybe fricassee the varmint what sold it.

They may not even realize all that...you take your chances buying/selling stuff Lee didn't get to first :)

No I use Auto CAD with a second party software cad CadWorx, which is specialized for petro chem plant design.

Actually I'm laid off at the moment looking for a gig.
You should try and find a way to learn SW or ProE which are the 2 most prominent 3D modeling solutions used in industry.

Most of the outside world we deal with uses one of these two CAD programs for 3D modeling - we've used ProE for well over a decade. That's a very powerful tool.

Richard - have you made any headway with your amp?

Actually ProE and SW are popular for manufacturing, CadWorx, Bentley, and PDMS are the big boys for piping. I found a used preamp from another member here, waiting for him to test it, so we'll see what happens. If I have to I'll have it refurbished, but I wanted to play with it first. Maybe I'll get lucky.
