@Nick Danger TDK D-90 is great tape I think you will get good results with that. I believe you can push that tape to +2 on the Vu Meters. BTW your equipment blows my mind.

I spun that whole record on the Thorens TD 160 super last night through the phono stage on the Pioneer 9500s and I heard stuff I didn't hear before, truly amazing music there. Glad you liked the tracks. Cheers

I have that album, as well. The acoustics and sound reproduction on that particular white album is very good. Good to hear you are enjoying the phono stage on the 9500S. My Pioneer Elite C-72 Control Amplifier has a great phono stage, too.

Bird and Dizzy- WOW! Wish I could say the same. Long live Bop.
I had to sneak in with someone else's draft card as I was only 16 at the time.Speaking of Phono Stages I use a Rane PS-1 to preamply to make Mp3s with my (Denon HA-500 for My cartridges) With my MicroSeiki500 Turntable.I keep it in my computer room just to make MP3s

Thanks Nando,I've used it from the early 80s and it survived 2 moves! I never had to repair them,I wish I could say the same for the AudioTechnica Arm and the MicroSeiki Arm that i had mounted on the same TurnTable. I had 3 arms mounted on the same turntable.

Derek I know you like JVC Decks. I just saw a KD-85 It is nominally priced at $99. It needs belts but it is great looking Cosmetically. Here is the URL on Ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/top-vintage...Home_Audio_Cassette_Decks&hash=item232c430eae Tell me what you think!
I only have 1 JVC deck so am not an expert. The V661 would walk all over that deck, but what the KD-85 does have is heavy build quality and vintage feel to it, I'm sure it would be robust as with a service and new belts. I certainly wouldn't mind having one in my cabinet, but have other priorities at the moment (and cabinet space issues). No guarantee on vintage units as they almost always need work no matter what the seller says, and means more than just a belt replacement, other things like mechanism/capstan shaft lubing, reel shaft lubing, reel brake inspection, speed adjustment, and some other stuff that goes over the top of my head like circuit board pot adjustments for bias (which I have never touched, cos I don't know what I'm doing there). Factoring all this in, buy it if you really want it, great looking deck.

No I wouldn't buy it. I suggested it for you because I knew you liked the brand.

Thank you for your kindness =) I'm saving up for something special so I have to be very disciplined in the next 2-3 months.
