I slept like a tree log. All this audio stuff kept me awake for like 20 hours straight. Weekend is nearly over, time to pay my dues. About to crank some tunes.

I'm up now, (had a double sleep), but watching the V8 Supercars for the next few hours. :happy3:
Re-Doing my dbx mix tape. The technics had me fooled that it was recording lower in the right channel. It wasn't so now re-recording, a joy to use this machine and can't get enough of these favorite tracks! Enjoy the vroom vroom.

I've totally lost the plot....
So Derek, you have a Nak BX1?
Did you rebuild that one too?
I have one that just isn't getting traction from the centre little drive wheel when it's trying to engage the front or rear spindles. (the little flipper wheel)
I'm thinking the little spring needs to be replaced. If you know the one, then you'll understand my dilemma. Where on earth do you get one of THEM from? It's tiny as.....
I've been scouring other broken decks etc I have here, but no luck. :(

I got too frustrated with it eventually, and chucked it in the 'too hard' basket for now. I will get back to it one day I s'pose.

Stupid email alert is slow today. I resurfaced the idler tyre on mine by using very fine sand paper, then cleaned it a few times with metholayted spirits (cotton tip) and then dried it after using a dry cotton tip. I had to take the tyre/holder off (very carefully! it is easy to loose the plastic clip). After that it was about 80% with a tiny bit of slip in play mode, nothing major. Mine had no grip at all, unusable at that stage. I had no trouble with the spring, I believe its idler tyre grip that would be the problem.

tried all of that....
.... no luck.
Make sure the reel brakes are releasing properly during tape functions. I had to sand the crap out of my tyre before it came good. Then clean clean clean with alcohol. You may need a new spring, or there could be some other problem with the deck preventing the grip from engaging.

Lee, and Derek, maybe I've mentioned this a little too soon, as I'm just not in a position to drag the unit out and plonk it on my already overcrowded bench.
Sorry guys, but I'll get back to it with renewed interest sooner than later. (in a couple of days....)
It was just a spur of the moment question.

I have to use my kitchen bench. You may see vitamins and medication packets in some of my photos :laughing9:

How do you manage to take such a great picture Derek?
My cam is just the worst. won't auto focus. won't auto flash. won't do lots of things including focus in macro mode.
I thought it was me, but it just can't be....
Normally a tradesman would never blame his tools, but I give up in this case......
.... it's not my fault! :confused2:

Sometimes it takes a few goes but I get it eventually. My digital camera is a budget Kodak 14 megapixel, its a few years old and is quite heavy on the AA batteries. Cost me $85. Now and again the flash will upset it when reflecting off metal/plastic and make the auto exposure send a crappy picture to the lens. Its almost impossible to take a clear picture without the flash, I need to use a tripod for that, any slight movement will make the picture go blurry (including pushing the button). When using the flash though it does wonders for clear pictures providing the reflection doesn't upset it.

I received my second Pioneer VSX-9500s today. I am so tired from work and have to start again at 2:30am. But I decided to power up the pc and upload these photos. On This amp the front function buttons don't work, and its clear to see why. There is a couple of blown IC's? and two capacitors (that I can see) which may have something to do with it. It powers up but I don't have the energy or time to hook it up and test at this stage. My universal Remote control switches the functions on it just fine. Power supply seems big enough for this beast, have put the 1st one to the test and it handles very well. Runs hot so fan cooling essential for longer lasting components. How about 3 stories of circuit boards? cool looking I must say.
