Gibsonian's Cherry Pl 700 Ser I, soon to be a PLWO-1000

Senor Joe,a minute of your time please Sir......Cathy has an "A"-A board. Gepetto mod on the back, standard value electro'... to get to the non-thump territory can I change the values to the latest "C" caps or to get the complete effect I need the latest "C" with the latest BOM??

Hi Lee
Unfortunately there is a lot of rip and route to get the rev C anti thump to work on the A board. I prototyped the C circuit on the A board and while possible to do, it does not look very good once completed.

Joe

Cathy was real quiet anyway, (after LL treatment) can't remember any thump at off or on. Wouldn't the DC protect prevent thumps as well?

Sure does Scott. We'll upgrade the electro's to the new values for the improved frequency response, clean that mess up[ on the back wall and call it good.

It sounds like the patient will survive and lead a long healthy life.

Mark, I may have to farm a 400 out to ya. I have 2 700's and 2 400's here for conversion and now this 400 from Canada. What's your schedule look like//

Seems between yourself and Joe you find improvements for the DC protect. Am I right on that and can you modify this as well?

Looking forward to hearing her again. Looks like I got her back to ER just in time before the rush. Word of this new and successful procedure must be getting around.

There was a lull for awhile, but it's starting back up again.

Stalled out on Cathy for a few days. Ed is sending some new output sockets.

Agreed Lee. The holidays slowed things down a bit but now ramping back up again to warp 8.

Scott, finally got my stuff from Ed. Gotta love an Ed box, jeez, better'n Christmas. Yep those are NOS sockets..

Schedule

Lee, just got back from a Boston trip. My brother bought out the Boston office of Thyssen Krupp Elevator Company and he needed some help emptying out their warehouse and moving the parts and equipment for some elevators and stair chairs to a new location south of Boston. Some of those elevator control boards are very nice, but not as nice as Joe's boards. The new business is Access Elevator and Lift, LLC. The phone number (508) 634-2400, the same number since 1947 is now his by contract. Website pending...

Anyway, I have some PL400 boards populated and tested. I can handle some of your overflow. Just send the patient to me and let me know if you want me to send it back to you or straight back to the owner.

Hopefully there are more UPS than DOWNS and nobody has to use the phone inside.

Actually, it's pretty cool. If the power fails, the UPS takes over to make the 24V logic circuits default to allow the car to descend to the next level and open the door. Owner's are supposed to test that every month, doesn't happen.

It's a creative way to ask a lady if she needs a LIFT.
