Spence,

You have a 4000? If so, you have something in common with The Shat --

The Shat thanks PL for fixing his 4000 preamp.jpg

I'm old enough to have watched Star Trek from the beginning. (Only in 2nd grade when it started, but that was destination TV for yours truly. :0)

Same guy that recently flew into space for the briefest of visits. Small world, ain't it?

3D, that’s cool, I have been Trecky forever but all my PL stuff is series 2.
Got it! Found a place where you could see them side by side. The 4000 S2 is a very attractive piece!

Myself, I have my original 2000 (Series I) preamp, which I will restore/make as quiet as possible. Along the way, I also picked up a clean, affordable, used 3000 preamp, and no doubt this will be the first one I will practice my preamp hotrodding chops on. (My plan is for the 3000 S2 & 400S2 to use in the shop -- whereas the 2000 & twin D500s will be in my main system.

(But I'll be spending most of my time in the shop between now & the forseeable future? Huh? :0)

So now for the package job
Normally I would not show this BUT

I got this great shipping box from Ed years ago, thanks Ed, and it’s now going to another of our members.

I bought a 700 series 1 from Ed years ago that his neighbor Dean had worked on and it was in a pack just like that, albeit a bit smaller in stature. Ed does a great job with that, he knows what he's doing!
