Kinda like Jan and I this weekend. She's an Alan Parsons NUT! So we had to break out the Darcy drive and go A to Z... then I went Dire Straits A to Z...

That is a lot of Black Sabbath playing in the BlazeES household. I have a fairly good collection of Black Sabbath on vinyl, but I haven't played that many in consecutive fashion.

Which album of theirs is your favourite, Tony?

Nando.

Hard Question Nando.

Probably 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath' as a complete worx... with 'Vol 4' a close runner up. But listening over the past two days, if you would have asked me early on, I would have said 'Vol 4' straight away. Then there's the whole post-Ozzy period. And the reunion run. Lots of good stuff over the decades - but the original Ozzy catalog is my favorite encyclopedia of Sabbath

I like 'The Last Supper' live album very much. Excellent capture of their mastery, with lock step percussion & bass.
The concert video is cool too, but they interrupt some good jam runs with backstage and interview, tom foolery.

When I hear or see Black Sabbath and their 1974 performance at the original California Jam (Volume 4 era), it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I was there (near the stage) and I can tell you the avalanche of sound coming at me changed me forever. Especially, War Pigs. It is impossible for a microphone to capture the bandwidth, sound pressure level, and harmonics coming out of those massive speaker towers. You have to trust me, it was like 1000 chainsaws, each on a different frequency, running full blast, inches from my ears.
