David's Phase Linear 700B Thread

Got it! Responded to the PM.

I advised him of the details and he wants to discuss it more when I see him at Christmas.

Let's see what wins. His unquenchable thirst for a WOPL1000, eating at him day after day, or a few hundred bucks? His battle is with himself. So once I finish eating the popcorn and watching him explode from the smoke coming from his indecisive brain; I will advise the populous of his decision. :happy1:

Too funny.... but, I can dig not wanting to part with the kids inheritance.... ah, to hell with it... he needs 2 WOPL's bro.....
 
The best part is that he can get his WOPL customised to look like no other.... Orange with tiger stripes? Easy peasy.... yellow smiley faces? He'll yeah.... we can also camouflage one so good he can't find it.... damn, the sky is the limit... :)

Oh that’s already been mentioned. He’s like me. Running a 700B on the highs and another on the lows. Well.....One usually follows the other. Simply a matter of time.....
 
Tell your brother I have an awesome Clair Brothers I WOPL'd and I need a nice reel to reel for which I'll trade. I just posted it in the classified ads here..
 
I just rearranged my amps getting ready to host for the holidays in the man cave area. Removed a PL2000 my father wants to borrow and put the PL5000 there. Moved the spare original 700B onto the so called “Tower of Power” for aesthetics. Nothing more.

Man they ARE a mezmorizing amp to say the least.

Damn...… Hope Sutton dont see this.... I think he only has 3- 700's and 4-400's..... NICE RACK MAN !! WOW !!!!
 
The wood stands are classy looking too. I can't quite read the name on them.
That's the most Phase Linear wood cabinets I've seen in one place!
 
Correct Gentlemen. They are SANUS. Bought them from Best Buy Magnolia store a couple years ago. The round support brackets in the center are capped by round end caps that make the rack look like they match the 700B knobs. With the wood cases......You’d look at it and almost swear this rack wasn’t an original PL option available back in the day. Like it was made like a glove to fit the B’s. My brother calls it “Amplifier Porn”. Can’t argue with that!

The wood cases are in mint condition too. It took me years to aquire them. They are not that plentiful in that condition these days. Two of the B’s have PL fans on them as well. ......Working on that for the rest.
