Hello All

I've been listening to music for decades but am new to better equipment.
I am using a home built computer , Jriver , Julio@XTE sound card, a Nad c3900d
into a set of pioneer hpm 200's all powered through a Surgex XR315 surge
eliminator / power conditioner and a little over 3 terabytes of digitized music.

First one, not so much. Second pic is great though. Thanks man. I bet those sound pretty sweet. You dont see those speakers too often.

Did your user name catch my eye? Of course, it did. Welcome to our forum. Haven't seen a pair of those Pioneer HPM-200s, yet. Had I seen a pair available, locally, I would have bought them by now. You have a mostly-modern system with the exception of those speakers. My Pioneer SX-1980 would be a fitting combination with them. Hope you enjoy your time here.

Brochure:

I immediately thought of that brochure you had posted before Nando, when I saw this thread. I think I too, couldn't pass up a set of those if the price was right.

Hi BubbaH

Well I need a little more practice upping photo's but here are some crossover pictures. I am biased of course
but these speakers sound just like all the descriptions I read about when I went hunting for a pair. If the recording is of poor quality it shows immediate and well recorded music is so clear you can hear fingers on strings. Jazz,
classical, blues, rock, choir and anything else thrown at them sound amazing. There is no need for a sub, if there is lots of bass in the music you can't miss it and the mids and tweeters definitely do the job. I would not every get rid of them no matter how small the rooms are. I rarely play them with the amp at more than -20 as it is just to hard on my old ears.

Hello Nando

I was very lucky to have found them for sure, I first read about them last October and at that point I decided If
if I ever came across a set for sale I wouldn't hesitate to grab them. 15 minutes later literally, I was on kijji
or Craigs list can't remember which, there was a set for sale over at Pitt Meadows up the Frazer Valley, I phoned
immediate and 2 days later I was on the Naniamo ferry head for Vancouver to buy them if they looked ok. It is
a good thing that at that point I knew next to nothing about speakers because when I got home I realized after a few days that one of the mid-ranges had stopped working. I did some research on the net and found out that according to other people who had encountered this problem that is very tough to fix because of the design.
I did however find a fellow down at Millstream who did fix them and also went over them completely ie: drivers crossovers and all the wiring and did a great job. I definitely destroyed the budget I had set myself but it was worth every penny, the only thing that I would like to get is a set of grills as they came with only one and its in poor shape.

BTW, Lee, Laz needs an Old English font for these Red Knight posts. Possible?
