Derek92994's 700 Ser II White Oak conversion

Tried again.....hows this? I do have a solder sucker if required.

Shut every thing down till you can get some 63/37 or 60/40 lead/tin combo. That solder wont't cut it D2.

Melting point is way to high on that stuff D2. No wonder you have trouble soldering.

What else should I buy? I got the solder sucker.

That should do it. You're gonna need the solder sucker. Gotta get most of that other stuff off there. D2, my bad man, we should have had this discussion before we started. We'll get er straightened out...

The solder doesn't seem to want to melt now, have sucked some of it off but its being a fucking bitch.

Here's the new solder I got. Can I put this over the top? The joints are still solid with no wire movement.

Yep, Gotta get it hot. Use some of the new stuff to overcome the iron/solder interface. What do you have the iron set at?

use more of the side front of the tip to get more surface area [and heat] to the joint if u can D2.<script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/6f136b72/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script>

Max it out. You aren't even getting the wire hott enough to get that cheap insulation melting. You have to have a little molten solder to get heat transfer. Yes, you can mix the solder that is alredy there. You need to get those blobs gone that are around the bottom of those tabs cause you don't want them coming loose and rolling around.

I'm getting there, dealing with a jammed up solder sucker
