Those backplane boards look a lot cleaner than the original setup. My only question is how much metal is in the buss lines on those boards? I think the original is 16ga solid wire. Is there an equivalent in the foil traces ?

Cool. Only asking the questions as they come to mind. I'm not well versed in this stuff. I'm just used to "upgrades" that aren't as much of an upgrade as initially thought. I've seen lots of car magic fixes, and I've seen some of the Dynaco mods out there. I also play with CB gear, and have removed a lot of those magic devices that did more harm than good.

As you get to know Joe , you'll realize he doesn't undertake any project that can't be made better in almost every way. He truly is a talented engineer. And as a bonus has a he'll of a sense of humor..

By the thermal switch cutout you'll notice 2 #16 jumpers...those are the " Lee mod" to make up for the power plane trace that had to be sacrificed for the cutout area. He figured there was plenty of trace left but knowing how I and others run their amps here decided a little more wouldn't hurt. Gotta love a guy like that..

Wiring the Normal/DC coupling switch with some FaboNav silver /shielded #20 pairs. Boy that's some nice stuff, and soooooo nice when wiring small stuff as there is no meltback even on small wire. Sure easy to make it look good...

Inputs wired....GOD.....what a pain in the ass when you have to do it in the chassis. Przems aftermarket rca jacks have the nut ON THE INSIDE, so they can't be wired up on the bench then dropped in. They have to be mounted, then wired. That's a very tight place to hold shit and solder it...

Wiring the pots is also another pain in the ass....luckily with a 700 Ser II, you can mount the faceplate as shown and wire it in place....at least you can get wire lenghts close....

Przem, was this a pre-assembled board??

This is looking real good Lee - nice job and good to see you back on the bench. Tight spaces are good for some things but not wiring. Wiring is an art form - one can present an argument for the tight space too. :la:

Yeah - leave it to Przem to leave his nuts on the inside. :shaking:

Ouuups, forgot to tell you. When mounted the first time I was close to explode... Could have thought and send you better posts. Sorry!

Yes, by Don.

Lee, I started the album with pictures of your work - great, great job indeed. Thank you Buddy!

The reason I asked Przem was that there was a contact on one of the relays that was not soldered.

I hope to be testing today. If work leaves me alone..
