Ben, it looked like it was dribbled on in no specific pattern, really irritating as it is a good looking TT that I just use as a manual, I need to figure out how to fix the tonearm lift thingie. Got most of the crap off and just have been skimming a wicked sharp razor black back and forth as fast as possible lightly on edge and it's taken most of the light scratches out. The very few deeper ones are barely there. I think the glass shop should handle this now, most of the dirty work is done LOL

Yeah I hope to be able to upgrade my 700II soon to a full WOPL upgrade. Mine has the early plastic insert knobs. I was talking to
Ed a couple of years ago about having mine gone threw and he had ask me if mine was a full comp. I didn't have the serial number
handy since the amp was stashed away, but he asked me if my unit had solid aluminum gain knobs. He said that those were used
on full comp 700II amps. I just like the looks of the solid knobs, but understand its better to just by-pass them anyway and just leave them for the original look. Were the original full comp units a A.P. Vanmeter design?
Anyway family came first and I never did get around to having it worked on.
How about all the rest of the Series II gear. Was that Phase Linear or some of it Pioneer? T.T. was Pioneer?
I might be interested in the 700II if I knew the condition of the faceplate. Its got to be tits or might as well covert it to a 700B.
AP was the 3600 and 3800 and the tuner guy...to tell if it's full comp, get the numbers off the outputs
TP 9054's and TP 9055's mean full comp. Just TP 9054's means quasi..

Ed tells me Lourdox is an Electrical Engineer, his kits aren't in the same world as Joe's.. If Joe had 5 minutes with the schematic we would know what it would take to upgrade it...

There is no 3600 II, its the P3600. The 3500 Ser II is the same vintage as the 3300 ser II.

No, the Pioneer PL L1000 (Phase Linear 8000) is far superior than the Pl550 from Pioneers specs. S/N 70 db versus 78 db, wow/flutter,
speed deviation etc., etc.

Also changing out the crappy Pioneer cartridge that originally came with it improves it more.

However I would like to hear a Shure V15 or Ortofon black on my 8000. I bet either one of those would be awesome.
I'm not really Shure how 8 dB difference in that case is all that audible, after 33 1/3 years owning them (no pun there at all).

im stoked about getting this 3800 to see the diff from the 3600... and the t5200 tuner is supposed to be one of the most sensitive tuners out there from what ive read.

I was just quoting Pioneer specs. I have no idea how any of them sound. I can't hear over 7,000 hz and everything has a very high noise floor.

My tinnitus works out great with the sound of the computer fans and CRT whine.

And when am I really going to get a Honda Helix to visit my dead and dying relatives anyway?

The trick is to buy X, Y and Zed and then when none further are required of those, get A1.

Which I can and am doing in September. Already done. I don't think I pointed out well enough that Social Security Disability benefits are supposed to be cut back to 75% of their previous level in 2016 and I'm getting what I wanted before I cannot accomplish it at all.

This IS saving for the future, because there isn't one. $600 a month or so instead of $740 puts me back to where I was 15 years ago.

I'm a single person and have a paid burial plan, thanks to my mom and dad back in the late sixties. There is nobody to save for.

Ok, $100 shipped for the PL 4000, I can't gamble more then that on a problematic preamp
