Johan's Phase Linear 700B Fully Comp Conversion

...

gonna do a comparison with the Accuphase C200V before I ship it.....curious...long time since I didnt put one like this in my main system....we ll see...but I think its tough to beat the accuphase c200 series..

hey lee i got a ? on bertha. ive had the pre on since i got it from you and i havent shut off bertha in close to 2 weeks. so tonight i decided to shut them down. i unplugged the 400 first then shut off the pre.my dac was still on and computer was still paying a song but i had the pre volume all the way down also. but after bertha and the pre were unplugged it still played almost a whole song before it went bloop and quit??? why does this happen??

No DC protect to take the speaker posts off line while the caps discharge through the board. Perfectly normal. With Joes newest board there is no turn off thump, just a silent fade to black....and with a DC protect as soon as the AC is cut so is the relay connecting the board to the speaker posts...

oh shit. so this dont have the dc protect in it!! did not know that. prob should get that done eh?

Pop the top and take a pic of the speaker post section...

Is it better to leave them on all the time? Or would 1 power up/down cycle per day be ok?

depends on the outputs, if they are MJ15024's or Mj21196's you're ok......for awhile............sorta........maybe........

What about for a FC WOPL 700B? Also curious on what wattage they draw when turned on but idle.

I know it sounds a lot better if ya leave them on a couple days or more. Not sure what it's doing to my electric bill but it helps a bunch IMO
