Awesome! You know Nando, of all the material that is laid down on Side A you couldn't have picked a better sample than doing a "center cut" off that particular track which looms large in my psyche. That bit of bridge harmonizing is some nice Beatle-esq artistry and a nice precursor to the subsequent drum highlights contained in the second half of that song. An interesting choice you made indeed!

The metering looks pretty much dead-nuts-on to where I recorded too.
And even with the limited compressed audio of the video I'd still venture a guess that azimuth tracking is solid.

Yes, Ben, I used my wagon. It's not quite a pick-up truck, but close. I forgot to update my thread on my Buick wagon being photographed for a commercial.



Geri and I were at the movie theatre and before watching the show ( The Wolf of Wall Street), the last commercial before the show started caught us by surprise. There was a piece of my wagon in the BCCA commercial. And it's also featured within the BCCA website home page:

Tony: Great selections for Side A, and you did a masterful job of synching the tracks. A sweet close to Side A. Swapping over to Side B - you forewarned me - is defibrillating - in other words, the strong bass tones are enough to jolt a semi-comatose body back to life:

OK, I'm floored because you did again Nando. Talk about "uncanny"!
Picking that track to sample from Side B, albeit slower than most, is hand's down
one of my all-time favorites by the artist and a song that shreds my brain most regularly.
So the fact that you keyed on "critical" songs from each side almost has me speechless.

I look forward to your further review of this mix-tape Nando.
And for the benefit of anyone else reading this,
the prog-rock mix-tape was titled separately for each side:

Side A: Sonic Interlude

Side B: Sonic Mayhem

The metering on that particular track looks higher than what I remember dialing in my deck.
Will be interesting to see how the other tracks compare; they should be averaging 2 dB
with infrequent peaks no more than 4 dB.

Had I not had other reasons for the title chosen (it's a play on words...), I would have titled that bad boy "Wonderwall"
because of the shear wall of sound dynamic contained in most the tracks. If you like that sample from Nando then I'm pretty
sure you'll dig most of the other tracks on that mix; there are some non-stop shred blenders that have about as much
spectra crammed into them as humanly possible without nose diving into a sea of non-intentional clip & distortion.
Nando's vid clip doesn't do the track justice though; it actually sounds pretty clean (for massive guitar sustain, phase shift and distortion) in the open air, real world.

My "shot across the bow" on that particular mix is, listen the first time at substantally lower than normal volume levels to calbrate your brain to the depth of audio info;
there's actually some nice detail woven in that brick wall if you relax you brain - which is easier to do at lower levels.
Then, and only then, juice it up on a 2nd spin, to the level your neighbors are able to tolerate...:happy6:

Tony: There are certainly two different personalities I feel in your mix tape. I'm drawn to Side B, yet out in public I tend to be Side A. Before I recorded that clip on Side B, I shouted to Geri, who was upstairs, "It's going to get a little loud for a minute, or so." I probably overdid it on the bass excursion for my front Pioneer satellites. On power tracks, I usually dial down the frequency cut-off on the DSP for the front's high pass filter.

We will see how this tape sounds once I'm upstairs.
