Larry,
I am so very sorry for all the problems. The deck did not work when it arrived at my place (your K-1000) and I told you. I am so very, very sorry. I like to neither a lender, nor a borrower be........
I really appreciate you letting me try it, but I never had the chance in that it didn't want to work for me.
I tried to wrap your unit and mine as well as I could. I did us about 5 or 6 feet of bubble wrap on each unit (I think), and then packed them with lot of packing peanuts. I bought all these packing supplies and a new box. I probably spent as much on packing supplies as I did on the UPS shipping cost.
I am very sorry if I have done anything to upset. I offered to pay to have your unit fixed....I felt it was my responsibility since you did send it to me to try out. I will still do that. I do want my K-1000 to work as well. I looked under the hood on both units, and both were extremely clean, and looked as though they had been taken great care of. If ther is anything I can do, I stand ready to do it. I have the service manualo, which I have offered to email you available. I will do whatever it takes to get both units working properly. I want this K-1000 to be my Dragon Slayer ( I know that is not going to happen...it's probably not as good a machine), but at least I had hoped this would be my cassette deck equivalent to the Onix CDP....the best I'll ever have...
I'm sorry if I've done anything to make your life less than great...but you should have enough packing peanuts to last a long time....I am sorry if I've done anything to offend..
