And the label on the back of the Phase Linear 700B's that I have say "Max Power In 960 Watts". I will put an ammeter on the line cord "Hot" and see what the amplifier pulls at idle and fully cranked and see what I measure. I will let you know.

Nothing wrong with requiring a 20 amp protected outlet now is there to accomodate? Most of my lines are 20 amp breakers anyway (12 ga or larger wire as well)
 
I had a dedicated 20-amp circuit pulled from the very top of the panel (this helps reduce interference from switching power supplied among other things also being fed by the panel) in my last house.

I will have that, but the panel needs to be updated/upgraded first. I will also run isolated ground for those outlets this time too. Might go with two circuits as legend says keeping digital separate from analogue all the way back to the outlets is a good idea...

Phase Linear 700 amplifiers with 960VA transformers were designed back when 15 Amp grounded breakers in a home wiring circuit were considered novel. I believe a 20 Amp-rated appliance requires certain NEMA plugs and certifications (unless you build it yourself, ha, ha,ha)

Yes, you can build yourself and easily make sure you have 12 ga wire min in your circuit and use a 20 amp connectors. Piece of cake.
 
The WOA-1000C Boards. The designation comes from the original name of the amplifier "The White Oak Audio 1000 Custom". That has been changed to the WOA Model ONE, but the silkscreen on the board has not been updated yet. I call these the Dual Mono Amplifier Boards. The two of them are equivalent to the WOA Rev G1 Control Board, except their supply voltages come from the Power Control Board to keep noise to a minimum. Here is one of the Amplifier Boards with the resistors installed.

Small capacitors installed. I should have installed the Diodes first. Joe's Bill of Materials (BOM) list the parts from shortest to tallest, to make it easier to install the parts in a height hierarchy.

I got the Diodes installed, some of them are a tight fit. The parts density on these boards requires better than average soldering skills. Almost done.

This is the completed Amplifier Board (one of two). Five Phoenix connectors on each Amplifier Board, each one is clearly labeled. The assembly instructions will come with the Jumper Configurations for RCA or Balanced XLR Inputs, Direct or Potentiometer Attenuation, and No Polarity Reversal or Polarity Reversal for use with a Y-cable and Mono Operation.

I almost used that same power switch on my turntable!

Looks great!

I suggest both a plain front and a single meter front for the mono amps. I guess it will be based on how many orders you get…

Those are my Dynaco A25s, they are very good speakers and I use them as monitors. The Seas or ScanSpeak drivers Dynaco used were very nice quality and sound very good. I am rebuilding the AR3s at the moment when I find any spare time. I just got the replacement Lpads last week to begin that replacement effort. When I complete the upgrades, I will judge which is better, the AR3 or A25.

Hi Jim, the power switch is not doing AC duty, low voltage DC. It is a nice switch with a very nice feel, not inexpensive though.

There is an extremely small amount of AC wiring inside this amp by design. Just about all wiring is DC inside the amp, to keep the noise floor as low as possible.
 
I went with the non-illuminated version of that switch in the end, because I ended up backlighting the bullseye level as the power indicator.

I probably spent more by the time the dust settled…
