I'm listening to my Dragon play Miracle Miles' recent Yello compilation mix on a '85-ish TDK AD C-90! This recording is vibrant and alive!!! AWESOME bass, surprisingly low hiss for a type I!

From trading with a TH member...

Two used BASF Ferro Super I 90s with some lovely recordings of Helen Reddy, Anita Baker and Randy Travis and more is on the way from the trading.

Beautiful SME tone arm on that Thorens. Great engineering meticulously executed. Gotta love that.

Thank you sir. I didn't know what I was buying when it was obtained. All I knew is it was similar to what my Audio Mentor had, the guy who started all this when he showed me his Hi-Fi setup, I was 9 years old. Anyways I got it for $250 in 2003 (age 24) including the arm and auto-lifter, it also had a $450 Garrott P-77 cartridge installed. When the stylus wore out on it, I had it sitting in a padded box for cartridges, my ex stole it when we split. Micro tracer stylus re-tipping would have cost as much as the cartridge so I moved onto cheaper options. Absolutely love that table and arm, superior tracking and stability. The platter was taken off so I could polish it. Took ages but am happy with the result.

I thought it looked a bit odd. I get it now. I can see wot looks like a curved scrape mark from the platter.
it still looks low. (the SME)
the 'platter's hub, looks really tall.
