A recording of Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade. It's one of a number of recordings I copied from DAT to Mobile Fidelity gold CDs years back for the Music Department. Vahktang Jordania, a Russian conductor who defected and became the Conductor/Artistic Director for the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra in the late 80s and early 90s, donated these recordings to the UTC Music Department in 2005, shortly before his death. After his time in Chattanooga, he went back to the Soviet Union as a guest conductor for the Russian Federal Orchestra, among many other conducting positions worldwide. All of these master recordings came from his performances with the RFO.
