what are you listening to?

Was listening to this last night, the psychedelic cover version 1st press only available in Europe on the Polar label. Not the type of cover you would expect from Abba

The complete Led collection on re issues made to imitate the original album packaging...pretty cool ...

Produced by Joe Boyd for Witchseason productions.

Inspired to play this after seeing the Joe Boyd segments on the BBC 4 British Folk series (available on Youtube). I didn't know that Boyd wrote a book - published 2010. I picked up a copy from the local library today. Looks like a good read!

Internet sources of the new Death Cab for Cutie.

If you like this band, give it a listen.
Something tells me this album is going to be a natural progression/extension of 'Codes & Keys'.

Sad that Chris Walla is gone though ...

Death Cab for Cutie.

Off the wall question: Did this band get its name from the Beatles' "Magical Mystery Tour" movie? Near the end of the film there's a cheesy lounge singer singing "death cab for cutie."

Just wondering...

That's exactly where they got the name ! :happy2:

... and most people can't stomach the movie (MMT) long enough to ever catch that part.

i've loved this song since i first ran across it on one of my father's early-80's AIR-CHECKed mixtapes back in the late-1990's.
since he was SO on-again-off-again about making his J-card notations, and the cassette this song was found on was obviously made during one of his F%$K-it-all moments,
i had to go all these years, up until just very recently, not knowing what song this was, or whom the hell it was actually done by;

I'm liking it Tony. Real mellow. What I like about Devy, is he'll go almost anywhere with his music. This is well put together, as one would expect from him, and I suggest you give it a listen if you havent already.

I do need to get more of his stuff. I have the record store owner looking into what titles are available to him.

Own it Ben. My son and I are HUGE Devin fans.

Here's some recommendations, if you don't mind.

"Ki" - good blend of songs that sound like what you hear on 'Casualities", some bluesy stuff and some progressive metal. It's the complete deal.
"Addicted" - in your face Devin
"Accelerated Evolution" - kick ass
"Ocean Machine: Biomech" - incredibly awesome with a touch of spacey, I don't know what you call it
