That's how I do it. When the machine eats it and if the tape is not totally chowed, you can alternately pull the tape from either side until is gets sucked back into the cartridge. I have had over 8ft of tape out of the cartridge and managed to get it to suck back in that way

Too bad someone apparently spilled coffee on the cover, but it did it's job in keeping the record in NM- shape. Thunderous bass and drums. This was a bright spot for me when it released in the late 70s.

This record is a great listen through all four sides. Although Layla is one of those played to death classic songs, it's a track which always sounds interesting and new to my ears.

So you took a 2 channel input and made a 4 channel output?

I made a mistake there. The program wasn't registering the quadraphonic signal. So I used SQ decode to make a 4 channel digital sound file and then sent each channel to the 4 channels of my soundcard which outputs 2 channels per amp, 2 amps. Now it seems to be working fine but it is questionable how well the SQ quadraphonic decoding works as I have never heard quad before so not sure how its supposed to sound. Saying that though, the front and rear speakers sound totally different so I think I may be 80% there.
