Giving my Johnny Cash mix a critical listen. Files came mostly from a box set from about 15 years ago. I'm rather amazed at either 1) how my memory of the recordings is completely different from the recordings on this set or 2) how much better things sound when all the syrupy Nashville string accompaniment has been stripped away.

Not sure I like the implications of #1, above.
