Took amp for a trip yesterday, the fella who got me into audio when I was younger wanted to see it. He's not too well, undergoing cancer treatment. He wanted to pick it up and feel the weight, heavy unit, I allowed him. Got it home, dusted off the heatsinks and back into action again. Didn't want to hassle him to hook it up as he was sick, otherwise would have been giving him a gentle nudge.

Victim of the record bug since age five
1983 Yello: You Gotta Say Yes To Another Excess
A flea market goodie for $2, Vinyl VG+, 1-1/1-1 in deadwax

1988 The Woodentops: Wooden Footcops On The Highway
Part of the great Aussie invasion of the late '80s (Midnight Oil, Hunters & Collectors, et al.) Found on eBay, vinyl E+, Masterdisc, 1A/1B in deadwax

2010 Interpol Interpol
2x 45rpm (yes- 1 1/2" center hole requiring a 45rpm adaptor!)
A bit angst-ridden for everyday listening, but with each playing my appreciation increases. Worthy music! Deadwax: Sterling / RJ

(Original release 1986) Abecedarians Eureka (reissue 2012)
One of those '80s bands I wish I hadn't missed. I've seen original pressings go for $300+.
Disc one: Original album, etherial guitar reminiscent of Simon Raymonde of Cocteau Twins. Nice atmospheric guitar and vocal interplay (Cocteau Twins without Elizabeth Frazier's glossolalia, or: Cocteau Twins with a comprehensible male voice).
Disc two (not an original release): Previously unreleased material, foray into electronica, and also a nice spin. Nondescript deadwax...

Mark: I haven't been disappointed, yet, with the quality of the sound from any of my Yello LPs. And good solid room-shaking bass...right?

Nando.

Yello has been rocking my world (and house foundations) lately. Having a blast. My neighbor hates me.
