Cool old classic TT there Mark! I bet the tracking force is heavy. Does it play 78's? I bet they would sound good indeed!
Four speed- from 16 to 78, but these old things weren't known for speed accuracy. Fifth speed setting will automatically change speed to 45rpm if a 7" record is detected.

Fitted with a knockoff Goldring Elektra cart, .6mil for LP, and I have a 3mil for shellacs. I have an elliptical point, but this tonearm with that point would be like tracking the groove with a shovel. Tracking is as close to 6g as I can get it- it uses spring tension instead of a counterbalance. This one has a 4-pole motor for use with magnetic carts. Surprise- it actually doesn't sound bad- but you do hear some rumble from the idler drive.

For shits 'n' grins one day, I checked alignment with a Baerwald protractor- and it wasn't too far off (but can't be adjusted further [and ain't worth the effort]). VTA will vary according to the height of the stack of records being played, another non-adjustable feature.

This changer is a classic, lots of cool features for its time. Only three models were produced by Glaser-Steers over a 5 year period, most were produced for console stereos. General Electric bought out the company to make changers for their consoles, and the quality dropped like a brick.

That changer is a thing of retro beauty Mark. Not unusual when companies get acquired to have that happen. The heart and soul of the company is now in someone else's hands who do not have the same degree of caring that the original owners did.

Those who enter the man cave will get WOPLed
These CBS 'Supersound' Cassettes don't sound that great at all, everyone I have tried has been like this. Have to turn treble and bass to max, but its listenable.
