Kenny Burrell - God Bless The Child
(1971, CTI) VAN GELDER in the deadwax

w/ Ron Carter, Billy Cobham, Freddie Hubbard, Airto Moreira. Thundering bass and the usual tasty groove from Burrell.

Nick Drake - Five Leaves Left
(1969, Island) 1976 US issue on Antilles; STERLING in the deadwax

The P9 is back from servicing - the TT PSU needed solder connections repaired - and with a couple of upgrades: the white belts and the Clearaudio Turbo tonearm counterweight. sounds great!

Roxy Blue - Want Some?, CD.

I saw a post Ron made about this band, while I couldnt find it on vinyl, I did come across it on CD during my weekly hunts for tunes at the Value Village. After a few listens, this album rips. Some really great guitar playing on this album. Definitely another overlooked band at the time. Love hearing stuff like this. Keep posting cool shit Ron.

Earlier I played

Judas Priest - British Steel, LP
Iron Maiden - Piece Of Mind, LP
Joe Satriani - The Extremist, Cassette
Joe Satriani - Not Of This Earth, LP
Black Sabbath - Heaven And Hell, LP

I'm the Red Knight, by grant of the Black
I listened to a lot of stuff today, mostly acoustic, and things I knew to be well-recorded. I'm still moving the speakers around, redid the whole audio + video setup, and had to put the longer speaker cables back in service. Yeah, they still had the small spades on one end which date back to my days with the Realistic SA-2001 amp (what a POS). Now, it's got to be bananas all the way, and I had to scrounge thru my collection of connectors to find enough. Made new jumpers, but may make a third set before I'm finished.

As I said, the Vandersteens are being adjusted, side wall, back wall, toe-in, all that stuff. I have no manual, no formulas, so am doing it by ear, and they are sounding better. Imaging has improved, and detail is still amazing. Album after album, I'm hearing things I never heard before.
