He is a great guitar player indeed! I am very familiar with his work
I had a feeling you did! Wasn't sure if you new Racer X though (but should have known considering you were in LA around the time)

My brother would tell me about how he'd shred away then look at the class and say "Your turn" and send people up to the stage to play. What a spot to be in but WHAT a spot to be in, Eh...;) He also told me about how Paul had a drill bit with picks on it and would turn the drill on and just shred. No that pussy shit EVH did by just holding a drill to his pickup and making noise but an actual bit with picks and shredding....I could only imagine....

I was going to bring up the "pick fan". I think a lot of guitar players tried that after seeing the vid LOL. It's just showmanship since your still playing the scales with your right hand. It looks cool but like playing behind your head, it's just for show

All playing is just for show when it comes down to it (I guess that is if you are on stage)

Gotta have a fast left hand to keep up.....

Correct, left hand if your right handed LOL

Picks are strumming so fast that timing is removed from the equation. It makes for a lot of fun though. I dig the vid of him and Sheehan!

Going to try with the VR5

What noise reduction would your prefer B or C

As for NOS sealed tapes, I have only have (7) Maxell UDII CD110s. I sent a pile of other sealed types free to Steven. It never occured to be that I would be recording again
Whatever sounds best to your ears works for me. Be glad to send you some 60 and 90 minute blanks if you're interested.

TD-V66 and a KD-VR5. I always liked the looks of the meters and how good they sounded in playback sp I could not bear to sell them. They have sat in the garage unused for at least 8 years.

The V66's display turns on sometimes and sometimes not. Have to look into that might be a loose connection The VR5 works so far. Have to clean it up and see if it will do the job for you. I would use the Shure V15 type V w/ the Jico SAS but it is not even remotely broken in yet so the V15 type II w/ the Super Track will perform the duties. Have to see if I have any sealed cassettes left, I think I gave them all to Steven

Ver nice! I am a fan of these decks because they just seem to work all the time, sound good and aren't very pick about the oxide you feed them. Prices are usually fair on them, too.I own a TD V661, TD V662 and a TD V531(out on loan to a friend).

Judas Priest - Live in London 2cd set...

I am not a fan of Ripper Owens singing for Judas Priest while Halford was away but damn, this album coupled with the WOPL sounds so devastating. Ripper cannot reach the notes Halford can so the band had to downtune a halfstep. It really adds a crush factor to the old material. Now I have my guitar plugged in and jamming at around Mach 6. I do see a few icicles have fallen on the deck LOL
