Molly Hatchet - Flirtin' With Disaster

Epic lp 1979

Man, I love that band. One of my favorites. I saw them 4 times in the 80's. I even got to hang out with them backstage once! I remember once they played a cool cover of Thin Lizzy's "The Boys Are Back In Town". According to what I've read on the web I was at the original band's last show. It was at The Toledo Speedway Jam in 1989. I listened to the "Beatin' The Odds" and "Take No Prisoners" cassettes a million times in my '86 Ford Ranger. Man, I wish I could still buy an Alpine system like I had back then. Too bad the current version of the band is so lame.

Pat Travers-"Live-Hooked On Music" 2006 Cherry Red Records dvd

...Nice concert dvd of Pat's 1976 appearance on the German TV show "Rockpalast". Good music but probably the most sedate studio audience ever (I think they were comatose)!

Canned Heat-"Live At Montreaux 1973" 2006 Eagle Rock Entertainment dvd

...A concert dvd w/Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown sitting in for a couple of tunes.

Just released today...

Hot Club Of Cowtown-"What Makes Bob Holler" 2011 Proper Records cd

...A tribute to the one and only Bob Wills by the Western Swing trio. Fiddler Elana James/Fremerman has also toured as a part of Bob Dylan's band.

A thrift store score...

Albert Collins-"Iceman" 1991 Charisma Records cd

...Super stoked to find a clean copy of this cheap.

Another thrift store grab...

Soundtrack-"That Thing You Do" 1996 Play-Tone/Epic Records cd

...I love the movie and am glad to finally have the soundtrack. Very well done. Lot's of great tunes from the Play-Tone galaxy of stars.

Great choice there Rex!! Love that Lp, great cover art as well! Bitchin' Pioneer TT, is that the Pilot amp in the background?

Thanks Stu, you gonna be in town this month?

The Pioneer is a PL-570 that has a story of coming out of the old KSHE 95 station on Watson Road in Crestwood. The amp is the DIY ST35 clone I built last year.

Is your Pilot running yet? If not when are ya gonna send it here so I can recap it for ya?

Latimore-"Straighten It out: The Best Of..." 1995 Rhino records cd

...1970's era soul-blues singer. If you dig Little Milton you'd probably dig him.

Tom Petty + The Heartbreakers-"Pack Up The Plantation Live!" 1985 MCA Records cd
