what are you listening to?

Oh yes, I should have known. You are the man! Those are supposed to be fantastic! Never heard or seen a set in real life. Biggest boys I have are the SDA SRS2's. 1st ver. Had a set of the second version but sold them years ago. Have two sets Tl, CRS 4.1 and SDA2b's but have never ran across a set of SRS 2.3's. if I had of they would be here too. Nothing (to me yet) like that SDA sound. Have been looking. Maybe one day.

I had a nice Thorens that I sold when I changed focus to CD predominantly. It was pretty nice. (pretty sure it was a 125 Mk. II)

However, since getting my Micro BL-91, the Thorens was literally a plastic toy compared to the Micro. I think my dust cover weighs as much as the Thorens plinth does (it's about 1/4" thick Lexan or whatever). It's in a different league.

So, if you're spending money, I think they deserve a look. The MA-505 arm is still held in high regard as well these days. Dynamic balance arm...

These are the ones I have been running, JVC's. I really like them. Heavy as hell that QL-A7, 26.5 lbs. The QL-Y5F is like a wizard. It does everything up, down, side to side with little switches. Just cool as hell and looks fantastic I think anyway. I know neither is a high end quality table and I have always thought of buying one like you are talking about just to see what I am missing. Yeah, one is sitting on concrete blocks and the other is down for some parts swapping with another table I bought just like it. 20251113_135907.jpg20251113_135928.jpg

Definitely checking out Micro now. On the net says Victor made the arm for the JVC. I suppose that's a good deal? I seriously don't know much about TT.

Victor IS JVC. That's what the "V" stands for.

Micro did make arms for others, but also supplied motors and spindles, although JVC is known for their motors from their development of the VHS format. I don't have any specific data, but doing research on Micro their name keeps coming up...

It's possible this particular model had nothing to do with Micro, but there's stuff on the (infallible) net to read...

Fun fact: Micro made surgical instruments and the CEO decided to branch out into turntables with that same attention to detail reserved for medical devices. From overhauling my table I can say they definitely threw some engineering horsepower at these things. 17mm diameter spindle!? For a turntable!? Yep.
