Tube gear I picked out for Lee.

There is great significance to these mono block Cary SLM-100 amplifiers Lee just won in his bid. They are both consecutive serial #s, and by pure coincidence, but more likely divine intervention, that just so happens to be the number of Phoenix Audio Community members we should have by the time you receive your amps, Lee. Serial #50 should go to the lucky winner of the Contest. And that may be Laatsch Junior.

Nando.

I'm just so happy you got them. Things happen for a reason. I am happy for you it is like I almost got them. Did you read the 1st question on the sale. Never forget that rule.

Joe's a hoot, he just said those Cary's are a step up from those x things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's some things gotta learn about tube amps, WHAT ELSE DON'T I DO!!!!!!

WOW. Like I said, I'm sure I don't know what I have yet, but I'm lookin forward to knowin.

They have been shipped. 4 separate boxes, tubes pulled, wrapped and in their own box. WHAT do replacement tubes cost??

Depends on a lot of things. Can get really spendy. Power tubes you want matched. I paid 35.00 for one 12AX7 for my phono amp.

I might disagree with you on the 'matched set' thing, I think it's just a way to separate a man from his money....it's Hogwash! I've never heard a diff in the sound, in fact, I have used several tubes from a competent tube tester that were just fine. Of course they were all the same brand, that makes a diff if your rolling tubes.

Lee, do some searches, there are a lot of favs for those Carys, you really need to study up before spending $1,000 for a retube.

Just doing preiminary asking dude, noy spending nothing before I ask.
