Not yet, I just tried with no input. And, as I said before to Joe, I have a distinguishible difference between the R and the L channel and I am looking for pictures of yours where you suggest new routings for the AC wire to the thermo switch.

BTW, do you think that I can eventually replace the current cord by a standard one from the DIY shop from the corner ? Or there is, as I could imagine, a specification for the cord?
 
And while looking for these pictures amongst your posts and profile I am loosing a LOT of time drooling with envy on your Pioneer crossovers....
 
Have you found a build thread or should I link one? With no input , and no shorted inputs any amp will be noisy as hell. Short em then listen.
 
Priced em lately? There are other alternatives for electronic crossovers, Ashley, Behringer, and a digital DSP that Nick Danger was gonna shake down for us...
 
If Carver 4000 is not a ten-foot pole objective, Behringer is in the same boat to me.

Better things out there or DIY.

MiniDSP still at the top of the wishlist, Lee. Hoping to order one at the end of this month(provided I stop buying vinyl for ten minutes......) I think Sutton may actually have one of them already and the calibration mic to boot. May have to PM him and see if has put it to good use yet., otherwise maybe I could twist his arm and see if he would be willing to part with it.

I am sorry for asking this Laatsch, but if you could give me a link... I spent a few hours without finding any relevant pic nor precise information... I'm a bit confused with the search function BTW

BTW, I just came home a few minutes ago and tried my amp with shorts : no white noise anymore !!!
Maybe still this fu***** 50Hz that I can still slightly hear, but I suppose this is related to the AC wiring scheme...
 
That is a good pic to illustrate that wire run there. That wasn't "shielding", just some fiberglass sleeving. Regular power cord would be just fine. #16 wire is what goes there....
 
All right,

I see what I have to do now.
Do you think there is a clean way to lenghten the wire coming from the transformer without opening it?
 
I tuck it back under the caps and put a crimp fitting and solder and heatshrink another section of wire on it...
 
Your DC Protect board is on the right......Bubba's is on the left...
