Good, still have a year with XP then. Man I hate changing over.
It only means what it says, doesn't mean the whole thing will get scabies and burst into flames.

Besides that, XP was supposed to have been dropped long ago but the fact of the matter is people can't eat and their damned infrastructure is coming apart at the seams etc.

There's less wrong with using XP than still using 2000 Professional (never was a Home for that was there)?

My BANK recently stopped using 2000 Pro and they are in thousands of branches...

Hasn't happened yet! "On April 8, 2014, Microsoft will end support for the decade-old Windows XP.
This means you will no longer receive updates, including security updates, for
Windows XP from Microsoft. Support of Microsoft Office 2003 will also be ending on the same date." http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/business/retiring-xp.aspx
Wow, Right you are. Years ago I heard that they were gonna pull the plug on XP support, so I made the switch. I had heard it had been extended a while. I never really looked back after going to 7 though. I just figured it had eventually run its course... Apparently not.

Thanks for the correction.... Nothing worse than spreading bunk info on a forum.

Is she using IE or Firefox? With Firefox there's a way to forklift everything (favorites.. saved pwords.. all that) over... I can walk you through that one..
If you use Firefox an Thunder bird for email, there is a nice lill app to back up and restore both of them. It is called Mozbackup. I have used it a few times moving from one computer to another and it works great.

Also if you are using Firefox you can use the firefox synch option and it will automatically synch favorites between the two or more computers and or phones. When I add a favorite to my desktop it is automatically send to my phone so I use the same favorites all devices.
