Tonearm Rewire

Ever had a Pioneer RTU-11 opened up?? I'm sorry, Ken this was directed to you.

Hello,
No, I'm afraid that's one deck I've not had the chance to work with. I've helped some friends with their RT-707 and RT-909 units. From a quick Google search the RTU-11 and electronics looks like a wonderful machine.
Cheers, Ken

Ok here is a magnified pic of the pin and wire. Then I have to keep my hand still to solder it. LOL

Will be done right though. Even sends silver solder.

Well I did 2 the other day; but the wrong ends. LOL. Plus you don't want to drop anything when doing this or you will not find it. LOL

No shit, it'd get lost in the flotsam on my bench, it's still suffering from "the morning after" syndrome.

Might keep the GIANT SHOPVAC from making small semiconductors disappear!! Stu, that's a good suggestion......really good, cause that is a problem around here.

A hint from Heloise...a pair of nylons stretched over the end of a vacuum nozzel will help find errant small parts that have been dropped.

Coming from a guy that has nylons laying around the house that is a pretty good technique. :cyclops:

works like a charm for lot's of things :D

I am not sure we want to know. :cyclops:

Well I have a couple of pics. I hope this harness is long enough. I took some pics. The shrink tube on the end is to hook to the other harness and pull it through. It is a trick I used pulling flight control cables. So you don't have to go and pull all the pins on the pulleys. It is good for the Horiz. stab cable on a 727. It is over 200 feet long.

Stuwee don't whine. I haven't figured it out yet ; but I like this camera.

Was going good till I dropped the tonearm mounting screw. I'm very happy at the moment. Wonder if I will have to go to Lowes and get one and paint it black. I didn't hear it hit. Can't believe it.

Nice work Larry! I'm impressed :o , if you go to get a screw, get a couple extra, might save you a trip later

And put them in an old pill bottle and label it for your spice rack of bottles for small parts...you do have one of those right?

I found it. LOL It rolled under the cassette printer. So we are good at the moment. LOL

Larry

He will, or I'll come up there and beat him with something unpleasant

Just an update. LOL Was unsoldering the wires at the base and pulled the harness out. Oh what fun. I have been trying to fish anything I can to the base so I can pull the wires through. LOL I think it is break time. LOL
