Not very helpful but I’d select all options... awesome to have a product like this in the works Joe.

I think gain controls would be a great option...a power switch with soft start or a relay... I know this adds expense and some don't see these as necessary or adding value to a build, but for a lot of us it's a hobby and a nice convenience.

Gain Control????????? You mean you want to add the "Little Distortion Machines"??? I'm all for volume pots too. Maybe on the back side of the new face plates, Joe can have partially machined holes so drilling for the pots can be done by the builder very easily. An "Added Option" so to speak.

Attenuator made a massive difference in my headphone amp. But that is much more revealing a circuit… nothing is best but that’s next in line.

I got some off these.

I’m sure they are from a noise free environment

If those are stepped attenuators, isn't having only 5 positions leave some big jumps from one setting to the next? I suppose that the preamp will take up some of that. That's the one thing I didn't like about the Pro 700's. But setting the attenuators on the amp to about the 2-3 O'clock position and then using the pre made it just right. I also used a regular PL-700 pot on them in some cases.
