The Phase Linear 400 Guinea Pig

These are some really good numbers - of course the way it sounds is most important. Looking good guys!! Can't wait to get feedback on how it sounds.

I just finished "Remix", even in the middle of the night volumes I'm almost in tears.... this is good, real good...

don't know how it was possible but the bass is tighter, the mids and highs more...............real??

Nice Lee, we will keep working to make these old war horses even better...

Ok, a last bit of work on the Pig, shakin it down now. It is headed to Phoenix, AZ, to be evaluated whilke A VERY SPECIAL 700B gets sent back in the cabbage case. It was Bob's personal 700B when he was running around the country doing trade shows, yep gonna work on an amp that belonged to Bob Carver. The owner of said amp wants the works, White Oak everything, spare no expense, strip it to the bare chassis and completely RENEW this "B" AND-----it will be the first 700 to leave here fully complementary. Now, where the amp goes after that is a mystery, I have my guesses, but I'll keep em to myself till we really do know where it's going. Stay tuned folks, I think it's going to be a very interesting summer.....

I'd say that it is tough to get a shot of those meters in the RED with a digital camera but then I remembered this is at Lee's house.

I can get Lee the meter board with the RED LEDs so he will be in the red all the time...

Joe said one time " Nobody tests amps like you do Lee". So, if I'm sending the pig somewhere to be evaluated, I'm damn sure gonna shake it down for any weak spots before it goes. This evaluation is kinda important. So with Joe's latest and greatest installed with some loving refinements by your's truly, that's the best it can be today, your mileage may vary and all bets are off tomorrow......

Sad Ol Pig!!! to the tune of "Sad Ol Red"

I just realized with the 700 going out tomorrow, and the lottery 400 going out Wednesday morning I'm----------

WOPL-LESS !!!!!!

Jani prefers this household to be WOPL'd at all times, so the pig is undergoing a quick transformation, from a kickass quasi to an ever kickier -ass fully comp. Before wednesday morning!!!

I figure you won't be without a 700B WOPL for very long though Lee :-)

Oh, got a crystal ball now eh?? I believe the Pig has a "D" board so it shouldn't be a long drawn out affair. Got a set of Back planes ready to go!!

For those of you that receive a PL and the meters have moved--DO NOT PLUG THEM IN--THIS IS WHY!!

No the 700 light board is for the 700B that is all. Just did not want a mixup. Thanks for confirming.

DNP components

C18L/R, C21L/R, C22L/R

D13L/R

R70L/R

R34L/R

Value changes

R35L/R = 1 ohm

R78L/R, R79L/R = 44.2 ohm

R62L/R = 1.87K ohm
