The Election!!!

I expect that to be a measure that you see popping up in a lot of states in the coming years. NJ officially has a medical program, but basically the gov doesn't like it so they've done everything you can imagine to stymie it. As far as I know, there are no growers and I don't know if they ever got any dispensaries open. At some point the fed will have to just give up on that battle. Its not cost effective and I think enough people are tired of the "war on drugs" at this point that it will go away, or at least be re-aimed at more problematic drugs. Maybe get the poppy crops in Afghanistan under control, since we've been dicking around over there for far too many years.

Lee, I am an independent with leanings toward the Republican way but the last time the Republican's held the majority with both houses, I was not impressed with their body of work

Somehow, we need a balance of both ideals because either on it's own just does not work and has not since the Reagan era. Clinton sort of made it work but...
 
It's the entire system that is broken from the presidency, to Congress, to the Judiciary, as well as the apathetic, and largely misguided electorate. The President is supposed to simply enforce and execute the laws, not make them. It is Congress responsbility to set the agenda as determined by the desires of the people. But that is not happening because of special interests, career politicians, the hunger for power, and the overall failure of almost anyone to respect the Constitution, and the authority of the people and the States over the authority of the federal bureaucracy. Nothing will change as long as we have the Leviathon which is our federal government with entrenched bureaucrats and entrenched politicians running the country and ignoring the will of the people, while at the same time lying perpetually about the truth

BOTH parties are EQUALLY at fault and nothing will change as long as there is partisan politics
 
Jeez, guys- I can rant for volumes on this subject...

My nephew married an Obama sucker who voted for him on the basis of healthcare alone. I have progressive spinal issues and use a wheelchair- any hope of me getting reasonable healthcare is completely gone with ObummerCare.

Able- bodied people have a hard enough time getting a job- and I mean a career position, not flipping burgers. A 56 year old dude with gray hair in a wheelchair is hopeless as far as employment goes. I've worked steadily since I was 18, and the last four years have been something I've never seen before. I've worked in printing and publication, I was a licensed orthotist for 13, and now have a minor degree in network administration- can't find a f(ire tr)ucking thing in anything I'm experienced with.

I find it priceless that when Obummer went to stump for Democratic candidates, people left the audience. Did you hear the rant from those four guys in Detroit- four black men, Democrats, and "community organizers," turning on Obummer like angry Pit Bulls. Absolutely amazing...

All I can hope for is that the economic hemorrhaging stops- or at least slows to a manageable trickle. I have my reservations about the Republicans doing any better unless they are conservative Republicans. It's not necessarily the party that matters, it's the fiscal responsibility.
 
Eh, two more years of extreme gridlock, maybe a trade agreement or two to hang a hat on but nothing much. Then we see what happens in 2016. Business as usual, party in the white house getting slammed in the midterms, a pattern Democrats are particularly vulnerable to. The governor races going red are a bigger deal, particularly states like Illinois that have been solid Democratic holds for along time. At least there's finally an Illinois governor who will leave office not in an orange jump suit for a change. Republicans really want to push their agenda on a national level, they're gonna need the white house in 2016 and need to hold the senate in a presidential year with a lot more of their seats up for grabs That's gonna be a lot tougher to pull off. And again we wait and see.

We need a Randomocracy - fill government positions just like you'd fill a grand or petit jury. Have them serve ONE term, and send them home. It would solve a host of political problems in a single stroke. I believe in the common people to govern themselves. Out with the elites!
 
Looks like Malloy stays Governor here, I thought Foley was a prick anyway. Other then messing up gun laws for people here in CT and raising taxes when he said he wouldn't, Malloy has done alright. At least he has not been convicted of wrongdoing yet like most politicians do here LMAO
 
I am one of the unlucky folks to be currently living in MN or what has become a mini-Chicago. I figure the 9 months of cold here has killed most living brain cells and is the only possible reason people are so totally lost from reality.

The good news from last night is that the rest of the country is finally starting to wake up. It will be interesting to see what happens, or doesn't. At least I have a bit of hope for the country at the moment.

I count myself as one of the lucky ones who lives in Minnesota. I happn to enjoy October through Early May weather. After that it gets way too hot and humid and I am happy when we have short summers.

As for the rest I can think of any place in the US I would rather live. I was born here and have lived here all my life except for four years. I will live here the rest of my life. :hello1:

Sure taxes are kind of high but so are the amenities and standard of living.

It seems Minnesota still likes to elect and re-elect Clowns, a Governor who doesn't know his Ass from First base and a Ex Saturday Night live Bad Comedian for a Senator
 
It shows ya how many Somalis live in Minnesota, an American couldn't elect Al Franken in all good conscience...

Now that the Marijuana industry has a legal means to raise funds ( and there was millions spent in support of those recreational pot propositions) you'll see a lot more states go down.........an old axiom goes something like this.......FOLLOW THE MONEY.....
 
The Somali's dont vote and The Governer and Senator are loads better then the stiffs that ran against em. Obviously look who won We had Mcfadden running for Senator and he hides his money off shore and helps close US companies so they can move over seas. Johnson who ran for Governor just had Johnson envy so that would be the only reason he was running. Unfortunately for both of them the voters can see through BS pretty easily.
 
DC won't get legal pot unless CONGRESS okays that (they are in charge) and nobody there wants their supply cut.
