Well I,ve got to be the only guy who bought one of these new in 1976 only mine is the 1700 model,,which featured an auto return ,the only reason I went for the 1700 was back in the day you could burn up a TK5E if you over Hemped and didn,t wake up til noon the next day

I found a 1210 Mk II in a bin, but it was in a terrible state.
Just the base, and what was left of a broken off tone-arm.
So, I found another platter and lid for around $80, then got a very cheap SME 3009 and Shure V15 type IV ($250 for both), put it all back together and it worked faultlessly, and have been very happy with it ever since.
.... but then, it doesn't take much to make me happy.

George: I hope my son, Matt, reads your last post, as he has nothing but praise for the Technics 1200 series turntables. Good on you to salvage the 1210 from obscurity.
