Some friends on Tapeheads suggested some type of "silicone lubricant" to stop Sony PR-150 from squealing. That's what I'm referring to.what be you talkin about man?????
No........ Something that stops squealing on tape, some type of silicone stuffThis guy is in his own little world. No wonder they were afraid of him on TH
No... Stop. Read on the inside of a Scotch tape. SILICONE LUBE IS IN THE TAPE.Don't follow this advise ANYBODY..... I just spent $75 on 2500 feet of SM911.... If your tape is in that bad of shape, shit can it.... It will dirty up your machine so bad you'll have to tear it apart to get it all out....
Yes, but just because yours don't squeal doesn't mean others don't! THEN wipe off the lube as much as possible, then, non squealing tape.My tapes don't squeal.....
So you're saying the industry standard from 1948-1989 sucks? Man you're not thinking right.
Yes. You have to keep it on small for 7".I have a 3300 and snapped a BASF because I had the tension control on large.
