Joe, this was Gibsonian's project on his Yamaha C2a, perhaps he will chime in here. Does ypour C2 have the same?

It appears that the 2SK101 is only used in one location in the C2a

So, is this akin to using 2 separate discreet 3 legged trannies in place of the 5 legged 2SA 798 in the Spec 2? With the emitters sharing the same hole?

yes as long as you match them. In the case of the 2sk101 there is not any lead sharing. It appears that a 2N3954 may be a possible sub for the 2sk101 More work needed to prove that though.

Yes, looking to go with 2 discrete jfets to replace the dual. Closest match I've been able to find is the 2sk170, so I've got 14 coming. Will try to match two as best I can and see how it works. I do really appreciate you guys looking into this for me. Pretty damn good neighborhood here.
