This one has been waiting to see a new day. It was a damn pretty one when I got it on eBay a few years ago. I had her almost ready to go with a Rev B board and all the other White Oak upgrades, but got hung up on the led board. This is the one that had some odd original light board.. anyway, I was afraid I would turn her to toast, so I never finished her up. Now she will have her Rev B replaced with a Rev E and with Jer on the iron, see the light of day with brand new upgraded internals.

Any news? Observations, or PICTURES? I'd love to see how it is going.

On a different note...........is the Rev B PCB able to be modified to obtain fully comp...or is it totally in the backplanes where the difference is? As I have MANY WOPL's but only 1 of them fully comp....is there a way to upgrade these amps other than going for a full replacement of all the boards, etc?

AWESOME. I can't wait to hear her.

I hope she retains the warmth and beauty that is in the 400 when fully comp'ed.

The 400 is so damn perfect, I don't know if anything CAN sound any better. With these Klipsch La Scalas and the Phase Linear 3300 even music streamed from Google Play sounds pretty unbelievable.

I can't use the CD player unless the dogs are in a different part of the house.

It freaks them totally out !

I'd love to know what they are hearing....

Go Jer, GO !!

Looking good Jerry.

You are a magician with these Phase Linears.

Absolute beauty in putting these things together.

We are all so lucky to know people who love music and this wonderful old gear.

Joe has really designed a beautiful product and you are absolutely taking this amp to a totally new level.

I am really enjoying listening to the 400 which you brought into the new world, and now I can't wait to hear the 700.

I know it will absolutely be one of the best amps on the planet.

WOW.

WOW.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Next, we both need a pair of Khorns.

WE both have to have them.

Yep, Jer did my two 400s (only have one now) and I have never heard sweeter sounding amps PERIOD. The music just jumps out of them, lively yet warm with zero ear fatigue. Joe really contributed something incredible to the audio world with the White Oak components

It looks like you have her gutted. Are you finding anything interesting, or is she pretty much "run of the mill"? The original light board and it's wiring are where I go hung up. I think it had some unusual or rare lighting board originally, and I never was totally sure of how to re-wire the White Oak lighting kit.

I hope she turns out to be a "good one", although I think with all of Joe's work there is no such thing as a "bad one". Can't wait to see what you think when you get her finished. Did you ever finish your "Frankenphase" project?

It will have to arrive tomorrow. We pick the K's up on Wednesday. I think the 400 will sound just fine on the K's (for a while). Probably won't blow them up with the 400 .............but I'm not placing any bets on that either..
