It got pretty late last night. I'll try it when I get home tonight. I did check all the wiring and component orientation....again...and I think we are good to go. The stickers they put on the tubes with the specs for matching.....that should come off, right??

Well, it IS NOT A SMOKIONG RUIN!!!!! Just got through with initial power up and voltage checks. Brought it up on a DBT and variac. Things looked good so dropped the DBT out of circuit and came up again. They want 12 volts on the filaments, and we have 11.7 ( a resistor change is in order), and they want the left, right B+ voltages within 10 volts DC. The left is 312.4, the right, 312.2
Not bad.
PS---Jani could hear my sigh of relief all the way upstairs.

I don't want to know. It was awhile of saving.Where do you think the resistors need changing? Really it was more than you added up. Do you think the WW made a difference?

No, I have not wired the second output yet, from the looks of it he uses a resistor to jump to the second from the first. Trying to figure out why he did that. All inputs on the back are wired in, there is an unused input on the selector switch. Don't know about the improvements yet, haven't listened to it yet. A whole lot of testing between then and now. My new printer should be here today for the analyzer, the one I have was not compatible. And I want the test results printed out so this documentation willgo back with the pre. I never did find any published specs, did you??

There is a filament resistor that can be changed depending on what small differences there are in transformers. It had a 3.3 ohm and will have to be changed to a 2.7 if I figured right.

No I haven't saw any specs. The specs would be different on the tubes you use. Plus any upgrades. On tubes it is sort of subjective I think.I'm not positive. LOL Still learning.

Holy Crap Larry and Lee.............that preamp is awesome looking, and it appears that you have sunk a fortune in upgrades. I have a similar preamp which I bought from Roy. I may have to wend it to Lee for upgrades now. Roy actually built thie one I have for me, and it does not have the toridal transformer....so I don't know what upgrades I should do to improve the preamp....or ata least that I could afford, and could HEAR....with Lee's new toy, I'll bet he could tell me what should be replaced to improve the preamp..it is a very nice piece of gear (I know Lee....for a tubed pre) but I'd like to get all I can get out of it...without having to sell the farm.

Everything in mine is pretty much stock stuff....what is the best spend of money to get the best return, in terms of sonic payoff....or would I ever hear a dime of the money put inot the pre?

May have to send it to you Lee, just to see...since I now know you've put Larry's together....plus Lee said his audio company must start to turn a profit...we all gotta pitch in...

Lee money and audio don't really go together. Take a write off. If you start making money let me know how. LMBO

I only get the benefits of not having to pay so much for things I want.

Filament regulated is 12.69, B+ regulated is 297 at the phono board and 312 at the B+ jumper between the 4 tubes. I have some work to do yet.

What are you going to do. Can the regulator be adjusted? Would you kill me if I wanted to go with another kind of diode. LMBO

Sutton you could upgrade the caps to the Russian PIO. Lot cheaper than SIO. Goldpoints I got as cheap as I could. Got the TKD on sale. Silver 16 ga I got off of ebay, I got the non-inductives on sale also. That may have been over kill though. Was a very cheap upgrade.
