I have Sirius radio also on my computer so I can kick up channel 82 radio classics. And it's 24 hours of all the old time radio shows. I love it. Jack Benny, burns and allen, suspense ,x minus one, Lone Ranger ,Marshall Dillon so many good ones IMO and Bertha likes them also...

Really nice Lee. Your wire discipline is looking way good - damn dude it's awesome. What are you using on the dangling leads for the light board? Looks some nice stuff.

Smoked a Nichicon eh - did it pop or just vent?

Jason - this guy looks like it will kick ass - maybe even yours if you give it a chance.

Can't wait to see the AP results although the listening tests are what really count. Blow Robert's ears off.

Nav, when I brought it up on the variac after the initial dimming of the PS caps it started to get bright very slowly if I didn't increase the variac voltage. That told me I had either a bad cap or one in backwards. It was a little bulged was all. I didn't want it to vent so I never went above the voltage i noticed the bulb getting brighter. It was easy to find. Isolated the power supply, no problem there. Added the +/- rail fuses for the left channel, no problem there. Added the +/- raol fuses for the right channel, problem, a visual inspection revealed a bulged cap. Grabbed cap with pliers and pulled....no more problem.

With all the other changes done at the same time, impossible to attribute it to that specifically. I know one thing, like Nav said....once ya use it there is no going back, no insulation meltback and it stays where ya put it.

Good point you would almost have to build a fc with other wire listen then rewire lol.

There is hardly any wire in the signal path...just about all of the signal path is carefully laid out printed circuit etch (which is oxygen free pure copper).

The wire is predominantly in the wiring from the bulk caps to the fuses and back to the load. That or AC wiring. Neither of these are in the signal path.

The bypass caps on the backplane boards will contribute more to the sonic signature than the PS wiring will and they don't contribute to anything other than better signal integrity.

Why do you ask?

Ive just read in the past using like silver interconnects or speaker cables really make it a lot brighter sounding. I was just courious. And that totally makes sence being as none is in the actual signal path.

It is not none, it is a very small amount in the signal path. The long wires you see are power feed wires.

If it was brighter, it would show up in the frequency response which is dead flat.

Thanks joe. I understand now. And Ron I'm used to these moments by now lol. I show my technical ignorance well and often... One day I'll get a grasp on it ..
