Transients are a big crescendo or loud , temporary drum blast, or louder than normal stuff. Thay can get clipped or compressed(wrong term i suppose) as an amp runs out of headroom...and I can run out of headroom on the K's with a 400, not so with a 700, haven't even got close yet...
IC. On Jessica all that stuff is great. I haven't reached a point of that yet. On Bertha I can use her up. And real high volumes I always backed off because it was hitting what I called distortion. So IMO on Bertha she hits the wall kinda easy. But Jessica until I get bigger speaks I don't think I'll have that prob. There is a huge diff on sound between this FC and the audition amp also. I nvr hit the distortion point on it but it did lose some at extremely loud volume levels. This amp stays together at all points. It really let's this pre show itself and unleashes what my speakers were designed around.... Ask peewee . My speakers sound like a new pair from yesterday morn lol. Like I said earlier. There's no sutle diff in any dept. it is a whole new world now !!!

When your amps go to 10hz, it's really nice when your preamp can too. That's why we spent the time on getting the low frequency response of that pre DOWN....

Yeah because there like a team now. With Bertha it just wasn't there. They didn't match well together . But Jessica and the 3600 work awesome together. The eq is back out of the mix. Don't even need it now at all. That in itself impressed me to no end.

That means Bertha did not have a 470uf in C6's place. Can you take a pic of Bertha's board, ya got me curious now. That was a way early conversion...

I must be lucky with the FC 400s I have. I run out of speaker long before I run out of amp. The E-712's are rated at 300w continuous but the FC 400s are so dynamic and transients are so huge that I hit the limits of the CV's and the internal crossover protections kick in BUT the main speaker fuse on the back of the cab never goes. I have yet to hear the FC 400s clip

I spoke too soon... wife has me irritated so I took it out on the speakers with Pink Floyd's - Comfortably Numb. Smoked the right speaker fuse and it's a 4A 250v fastblo. Need to get some 5A's me thinks but I slapped an 8A in there temporarily. I will be careful until I get the correct fuses
