Sansui g 7000 dial lights

Well, yor're gonna need one just to get the AC voltages where all the lights get their feed from. Hard to pecify what LED, etc till we know the voltages we are dealing with.
 
the pic on the top is the board with the fm stereo led, which also powers both festoon lamps for the meters..the wiring for the lamps is both sets of black and white wires one set for right and left each, pics 2 and three are another view of these, pic 4 is a sideview of these, pic 5 is the dial scale festoon, that one has a black and white wire set too, but this one connects to the board that has the green "protection "led on it..next pic is my rig the way it is now...YAY!!..last pic is a festoon that i removed from a junk g7000 that i bought for parts

You'll need to document what lights conme off of what feed . If there are more than 1 light in a circuit led's have o be treated differently, whether in series or parallel they are handled differently just in those 2. So, How many at what voltage and series or parallel.
 
Do you have a service manual for that?? Pretty handy for some things comin up.
If you don't, try Rick@stereomanuals.com. there are other vendors too, I'm sure some other folks can point ya to em.
 
i appreciate that...im not sure if they are in series or in parallel, i will need a schematic to deterine that....there is someone on here that has one that is done with the blue led's, i think it is STYX...maybe he will know.

And yes, besides my wife and kid, my system is my baby lol....ive had most of this system for 22 years now, kenwood kd 2077 turntable, sansui g7000 receiver, 4 sansui spx 8000 speakers, pioneer sg9800 eq, pioneer hr 100 8 track, and sansui sc3100 g tape deck....also have various cd players, tape decks, reverbs, etc , that i play with, i mostly trade those in for different stuff to mess with...but all the sansui gear, pioneer gear, and kenwood gear i have is here to stay lol

thanks, got a ton of money into restoring her, but well worth it...just had the big g recapped last week, the guys at vintagehifi here in pittsburgh did a nice job...BIG difference in sound, and she actually gained some headroom { like the big g needed any more of that tho } lol.
 
I find that 500 watts a channel may be a little restricting in my world. And I"M ALL ABOUT dynamic headroom!!!!
 
yea, i gotta admit, i do find it amusing when im knocking the books off my downstairs neighbors shelves, and ive only got my big g set at 20 % volume LOL
 
I think it's way cool to throw a block party from my basement, and the whole block knows what we're playin.

DO they not fit in the mounting spot or do you need to know how to make them work?

I believe the LED's need a resistor tied in with them to get them to work right but I'm not sure of the value of the resistor.

I've xeen blue fuse lamp on eBay in at at least one for the regular voltages (Marantz, Pioneer, Sansui).

The implied message is that they are straight drop-ins but I did not study the item before moving on.
 
yea, turns out my tech thinks that they arent though....ive seen two big g's with the modification done though...i think STYX owns the one, a g 7500, and there is a g8000 with it done too...mine actually doesnt need it to be done per se, but after 22 years, the incandescent lamps get a little boring to look at lol...not to mention, i just had her recapped, so why not take her all the way to the next level

sorry havent been able to reply yet lol, i work nights....but thank you, i will try to get ahold dwojo and see if he can help...really appreciate all the help you gys have given too
