I take it that you are leaving the AC socket unpopulated, correct?? You should have all your AC down by the transformer except for the thermal cutout runs. Make sure those are paired tightly with the return leg for low emissions.
There's an understatement I fight with neatness all the time. I use the smallest gauge that I can for the backplane board to control board wiring to keep bulk down (22GA). Using 26GA for the 6 bias connections.

Which ones are you having trouble with Lee? Mine seemed to come together pretty well. I am using the thin walled mil spec 600V Teflon for most all runs. It lays in very neatly.
