I really wish I had the skill to do nice tidy wiring. I just got my phase converter hooked up and my milling machine running this week, it's been here six years. I am so ham fisted when it comes to even simple electrical work.

It's a learned skill. Took me a few years. Wiring all my company's water plants and production wells helped. Just the sheer volume of wiring a fella had to get better.

What kind of mill Richard??
1968 Millrite. It's a true knee mill, not a mill-drill. Made in Cincinnati, they are often called "Baby Bridgeports". All the features of a Bridgeport , but a bit smaller. Mine has a 36" table.

I also have a 1934 Southbend 9" tool room lathe I restored, first year they made them.

Our machine shop has a half dozen Bridgeports. A lot of Monarchs made in the 40's, Some cincinnati's. Lot of machine tools. My partner was the eldest son of a guy that started a machine shop here in Gillette in the 60's. Wandler has not been without machine tools since.

Whew! So now the inside's pretty much wired up. Inputs, DCP, output busses... Tomorrow we get the transistors in and wire up the WO board. Soooon... very sooooon....

Lee that rev "A" DCP had me scratching me head a lil. 8 terminals instead of the normal 7, LOL!

Yessir - Pin 5 isn't in use, 8 total on this rev. Don't forget the reroutes on the backside... heh.

Had me doing a double take until I did a few measurements.

It LIVES!

All outputs in, bias Q's situated, all control wires replaced with the "good stuff" and the WO board is wired up!

What a lotta work this guy has been so far, but hey... it passed the "DBUST" (that's a new acro I made up for "Didn't blow up shit test" :toothy10:)

Initial measurements, variac removed and on line AC:

Offset - both channels, about -5mV
Bias - 380mV
Rail Voltage - 107.4 VDC (yoooowwwzzz this really is a hottie, eh?)

I'm listening to it! Not too shabby. Great sounding amp. Just a couple of bugaboos I need to work out. First that gen "a" dcp gots me confused again... seems it's lefts and rights are different from the current stock.

Big one tho... the power switch will scare the bejesus out of you because of the inrush current. Serious SERIOUS "POP!!". I almost thought I had something wrong there, but has to be the arc across the switch doing it. I should probably replace it.

Looks like we gots a funky meter too. Way twitchy and oversensitive. Isn't there a way to tweak on it to get it to behave?

Soundwise tho.. nooot bad, not bad at all!
