Ih the old horn loaded days, you'd have to really aim your PA as to not directly hit direct reflected surfaces which would create awful problems.
Nowadays with DSP's and Digital everything, you can do it all electronically. Amazing how you manipulate sound these days.

Yep, missing the basic prerequisites to doing it manually I'm sure bites a few in the butt.
