PL700 Rebuild

Board done. Need to go over all the solder points with my 4x visor and clean the bits of stray flux. Then on to adding transistors to heatsink and wiring things up. Oops, after looking at pic realize will probably get a visit from the all nuts not aligned brigade :)

Sure, still have to inspect and wash her down but a second set of eyes always welcome.

First observation, the lock washers go under the nuts not between the screw head and PCB.

Would help to thoroughly clean the board before I could provide further feedback.

Cleaned with 91% isopropyl, of course was out of tech spray again. Anyways changed out the washers. Eagle eyes most appreciated sir.

Appears you used K44 rosin core flux Lee. Very tough to clean with alcohol. Multiple washes and copious amounts required. The NoClean 245 washes clean much easier than K44.

Is there a solvent you prefer since I have to order more tomorrow? Will order more aggressive cleaning brush as well. Such an amazing site of helpers this is :)

I don't go any stronger than 91-99% isopropyl generally, multiple passes however. 3M Novec in an aerosol can is absolutely the best flux remover ever, but it is very expensive
