After building several 700B amps, I decided to upgrade my 400 S2 with a meter sensitivity switch.

Its a nice option to have when most of your listening happens at wife friendly levels.

Given the WO LED boards already incorporate this feature and the WO chassis has an existing switch hole, it only required an additional DPST switch and some wire.

I'd appreciate an opportunity to take you up on that. My PL400S2 needs a frame-up resto-mod. White Oak sounds like just the ticket. However, it looks like you're right in the middle of a Model One build for Lee.

Yeah my 4 fin is due for a few tweaks. I'm gonna switch around the meter board/lights, clean up the AC wiring, maybe a Triac switch, figure out why the right channel drops intermittently.

I have 2 PL400s with the full White Oak rebuild and WA relay. I can’t say they are as pretty as yours, but they do sound good! I did an experiment, and pulled the WA relay out of one, and also replaced the binding posts with tube connectors. It cleaned up the signal path, opened up the sound, and all I can say is that is the amp I listen to now. Maybe I’m flirting with disaster, but I’m sure getting better sound! I don’t have any of the “big boys” to compare it to, but it has got to be right up there with Bryston and McIntosh.

I can state from first hand experience with equipment in my room, the full comp WOPL is as good or better than most big name amps at 2-3 times the cost.

If you really want to wake your system up, try the new Model ONE amp, less background noise, tighter control of low frequencies, and greater impact overall.

The never ending quest for better sound makes this hobby an interesting journey.
