Made some progress today:
- Installed transformer with isolated bolts (did not realize S2 transformer was 1/2" longer than S1)
- Assembled rectifier with caps
- Placed sheathing over AC primary wires and positioned tiedown supports on backplane PCB - much easier to route solid core S1 transformer wires... They stay in place.
- Finished up main wiring and performed initial power supply test

It''s alive!! +/-85.2V with 120V AC input.

Eric, excellent! If you ever wanted to build amps for clients, you'd probably stay very busy.
Thank you very much.

I really enjoy working on this type of project. It's a great combination of making it work electrically and hands on mechanical assembly. It's been a welcome distraction from the Midwest winter.

I would welcome building amps for others...

Two is one and one is none... At least that's what I tell the wife when talking about tools.

The Fluke on the right is almost 30 years old and the LCD is starting to fail unfortunately.
I've got an 87 (with no version number like this one). It's never been in for cal but still reads consistent with calibrated instruments.

Decisions, decisions...

Do I go Black, or stay with natural finish.

I'm leaning towards Black to match my Aragon pre, but need to find Black anodized handles. Anyone have a good source for quality Black handles?

The inside of your amp is super sexy, I'm thinking you can have it any color as long as it's black!
Very sexy to match your Aragon Pre......
Just sayin' :D
My 2 cents.....
